Long-term strategic partnership with Action

We are proud and grateful for the launch of a multi-year partnership between the Princess Máxima Center Foundation and Action. This partnership supports the Princess Máxima Center’s collaboration with pediatric oncology centers and research centers abroad. International collaboration is essential to further improve care and research for children with cancer. By sharing knowledge and data, treatments can improve more quickly and new prospects for a cure can emerge.

 Since its opening in 2018, the Máxima has grown into the largest pediatric oncology center in Europe. Every day, we work on advancements and innovations, better treatments, diagnostics, and support—which increase survival rates and improve quality of life. We want to share this progress and exchange knowledge with childhood institutions abroad. Because worldwide, 400,000 children are diagnosed with cancer each year, most of whom have no access to specialized care. In the Netherlands, 80% recover; in many countries, less than 20%. Driven by the belief that every child with cancer has the right to quality care, we apply our expertise not only to the 600 children diagnosed annually in the Netherlands, but also to children worldwide.

The support of Action contributes to these goals. The partnership with the Princess Máxima Center Foundation is part of the Action Sustainability Program and is one of the partnerships through which Action contributes to the communities where it operates. Action focuses on children, as they are the future and they believe children deserve a safe and healthy start in life.
