The Spanish foundation Juegaterapia Foundation has presented a donation to the Prinses Máxima Centrum to accelerate research into new treatment options for children with rare forms of leukemia. This includes studies on improved treatments for Acute myeloid leukemia (AML), Myelodysplastic syndrome (MDS), and Juvenile myelomonocytic leukemia (JMML).
The funding enables further development of this platform study, led by Dr. Paco Bautista, pediatric oncologist at the Máxima. Directly contributing to the mission of the Máxima to cure every child, with the best possible quality of life.
“We chose to collaborate with the Prinses Máxima Centrum because of its leading role in pediatric oncology and its shared mission to improve survival rates and quality of life for children with cancer,” said the Juegaterapia Foundation. “Supporting this study is a natural step for us in contributing to innovative treatments for children with leukemia.”
During the visit, the foundation gained insight into how care, research, and attention to children’s well-being come together at the Máxima. This collaboration highlights the importance of international efforts to improve outcomes for children with cancer worldwide.
